AMMAN — A ceremony honouring supporters of the Jordanian Society for Medical Aid for Palestinians (JMAP) was held on Monday under the Patronage of HRH Prince Hassan, a statement from HRH’s office said.
In his opening speech, Prince Hassan, who is the president of the society, said that the Jordanian-Palestinian relation cannot be understood in isolation from the unity of the region or the Orient throughout history.
He noted that the awarding ceremony confirms that Jordan is part of a global movement united by the “Jerusalem issue”, which lies at the heart of the Palestinian cause, stressing the importance of turning the concept of endowments to a sound future management and the establishment of a scientific and cognitive gallery in Jerusalem.
HRH stressed that the Palestinian refugees issue is one of the main pillars of the Palestinian cause, noting that, without a two-state solution, the region will remain unstable and in a state of conflict.
He commended the Royal Medical Services of the Jordanian Armed Forces for building and setting up hospitals and medical centres in Ramallah and the Gaza Strip, praising the efforts exerted by various international and local organisations in support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees.
The society’s CEO, Maha Sakka, gave a brief presentation on JMAP’s achievements, which include the provision of health services for vulnerable people through the society’s various health centres, which have reached over 1.6 million patients to this day.
