Prince Hassan congratulates church leaders on Christmas

AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies, on Wednesday paid a visit to the Evangelical Lutheran Good Shepherd Church - Amman, where he offered has best wishes to the Christian community on the occasions of Christmas.
Giving a speech, Prince Hassan said that Christmas embodies the principle of mercy which all religions promote in addition to coexistence and tolerance, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Prince also said that all people need to treat each other as they want to be treated, renewing the need for an inclusive citizenship that relies on the dignity of man and equality regardless of religion, race, ethnicity and sect, Petra reported.
The Prince underlined that human dignity is the same in Islam and Christianity, which place man as the centre of the universe.
Prince Hassan also noted that mercy, equality, tolerance and co-existence were the major pillars of the Arab renaissance, explaining that the sought-after security that all human beings need is the one that is based on justice, tolerance and coexistence.
Samer Azer, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd - Amman, said that churches in Jordan reflect the principle of comprehensive citizenship for the country’s religious and cultural diversity, Petra reported.
