Prince Ali, China sign agreement to support football association, clubs

AMMAN — HRH Prince Ali, the Regent and president of the Jordan Football Association (JFA), on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese embassy in Amman to provide the association and its member clubs with $100,000 worth of fitness equipment, as well as state-of-the-art financial and administrative systems.

The agreement was signed by Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang and JFA Secretary General Sizar Soubar.

During the signing ceremony, Prince Ali addressed the “positive impact that the agreement will have on furthering friendly relations between the two countries”.

He also underlined that cooperation will continue to build on such milestones towards the exchange of expertise with China on improving the football scene in Jordan. 

On behalf of JFA’s executive committee, Prince Ali thanked the Chinese embassy and all those “contributing to the advancement of Jordanian football”. 

For his part, the Chinese ambassador expressed the joy he felt in light of the bilaterally beneficial agreement as proof of the historic relation between the two countries. 

At the end of the ceremony, Prince Ali exchanged plaques with the Chinese ambassador, in the presence of members of the executive committee and members of the Arab press.
