AMMAN — A Polish charter plane carrying 189 tourists landed at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba on Tuesday.

Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez highlighted the importance of this step in resuming welcoming more tourist flights and boosting tourism in the Kingdom, according to a statement by the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

JTB Director General Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat said that the arrival of Polish tourists, supported by the JTB, was a result of cooperation with the Tourism Ministry, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and relevant tourism companies.

ASEZA Commissioner for Tourism and Environment Nidal Majali noted that charter flights would guarantee resuming tourist momentum in the coastal city, highlighting the importance of Aqaba, Wadi Rum and Petra as favoured sites for tourists from around the world.
