Police chief meets with Italian military delegation

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Tuesday met with an Italian military delegation led by Brig. Gen. Pietro Carrozza, Deputy Director of Operations at the Italian Carabinieri's General Command, over means to enhance police and security collaboration. Maaytah highlighted the PSD's commitment to developing the expertise of its staff by drawing on the know-how and practices of other countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Carrozza, along with his delegation, commended the PSD for its standards and its unwavering dedication to maintaining high professional conduct, reaffirming the "longstanding and deep-rooted" relations between the two nations. The Italian delegation is currently on a visit to the Royal Department for Environment Protection (Rangers) to finalise a partnership project between the two sides to enhance Ranger's endeavours in heritage and natural resource conservation, explore operational frameworks, share expertise, and implement globally recognised practices in awareness, training and advancing environmental and tourism security within Jordan.
