AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday opened the new 250-bed Al Iman Public Hospital in Ajloun, after construction of the JD40 million project was completed.
Khasawneh, accompanied by Minister of Health Feras Al Hawari and other officials, was shown around the hospital's various departments.
He stressed the necessity of such facilities in providing world-class care to citizens in Ajloun, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The prime minister also spent time talking with patients and visitors as well as the hospital's medical staff in order to find out more about the hospital’s services.
Hawari said that this is the sixth hospital inaugurated by the ministry this year, adding that while the ministry's work remains limited by the impact of COVID-19, it has opened and expanded more than 35 medical centres across the Kingdom.
Al Iman Public Hospital will be staffed by a number of medical specialists in various fields, and also comes equipped with on-site laboratories and a radiology department. The hospital was also provided with trained administrative personnel and support staff.
The 42,000-square-metre facility first started receiving patients in September, with a number of surgeries having been carried out since then.
This was made possible after the delivery of the necessary medical equipment for performing such procedures. Hospital emergency departments, outpatient clinics, patient rooms, operation rooms and other departments have been furnished with the proper supplies, marking the start of the hospital operating at full capacity.
