Planning minister, in visit to DoS, checks on continued provision of statistical information

AMMAN — Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wissam Rabadi on Thursday visited the Department of Statistics (DoS) to check on its workflow and the continued provision of statistical information during the current exceptional circumstances.

During the visit, the minister lauded the department's role in supporting government efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, stressing the importance of maintaining the "distinguished and honourable" level the DoS has achieved, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Rabadi underlined the importance of increasing the department’s independence to enable it to fulfil its duties, enhancing its achievements and consolidating its institutional work.

For his part, DoS Director Qasim Zubi briefed the minister about the department’s work to provide statistical data to assist in making sound decisions.

The department is continuing to provide statistical data and indicators in these exceptional circumstances, Zubi said.
