Parliament endorses replies to King’s speech, forms committees

AMMAN — The two Houses of the Parliament on Sunday endorsed their replies to His Majesty King Abdullah’s Speech from the Throne as well as formed and named members of the parliamentary committees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Senate on Sunday also named members of its permanent committees and formed panels. The panels formed included: the Legal Committee, Economy and Finance Committee, Arab International Affairs Committee, Administrative Committee, Education Committee, National Media and Guide Committee, Residents, Environment and Health Committee, Water and Irrigation Committee, Social Development and Work Committee, Mineral Resources and Energy Committee, Heritage and Tourism Committee, Public Service Committee, Freedom and Citizens’ Rights Committee, Palestine Committee in addition to the Sport, Youth and Culture Committee.
The Lower House elected members of 15 out of its 20 permanent committees. The committees formed included: the Finance Committee, Media and National Guide Committee, Legal Committee, Badia and Rural Committee, Freedoms and Humans’ Right Committee, Sport and Youth Committee, Woman and Family affairs Committee, Integrity and Facts Finding Committee, Behaviour and System Committee, Transport and Public Service Committee, Mineral Resources and Energy Committee, Water and Agriculture Committee, Culture and Education Committee, Residents and Social Development Committee, Investment and Economy Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee.
