Palestine thanks Jordan for support after fatal bus accident

AMMAN — Palestinian Awqaf Minister Yousef Ideis on Saturday praised Jordan’s actions in the wake of the bus accident in which 16 Palestinians died while on their way to perform umra (the lesser Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca).
He thanked the Jordanian government and people for their support. On Friday, Senate President Faisal Fayez sent a cable of condolences over the incident to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The pilgrims’ bus overturned near the Mudawara border crossing, injuring 34 and killing 16, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
