AMMAN — The Lower House’s Palestine Committee is concerned with Jordanian prisoners in Israel and addressing the difficulties facing them, head of the panel the MP Yahia Saud said on Sunday.
Saud made his remarks during a meeting with family members of the freed prisoner Ahmad Khreis, in the presence of Lower House speaker assistant, Ibrahim Abul Sayyed, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The MP said that the committee would exert all efforts to ensure the return of Khreis to Jordan.
Abul Sayyed added that the House would follow up on the issue with stakeholders to ensure his safe return to the Kingdom.
Khreis’ relatives expressed their appreciation for the Lower Chamber and the committee for their role towards Palestinian refugees, Gazans and prisoners.
In a separate meeting with the general manager of Khansa Hospital, Waddah Barghouthi, Saud commended the role of the Marka-based hospital towards Palestinian refugees and Gazans, according to Petra.
Barghouthi briefed the committee members on the work of the hospital, which aims to alleviate Palestinians’ economic burdens.
He added that establishing the hospital in Marka was in response to the difficult living conditions of the area’s residents, the majority of whom suffer from poverty.
Barghouthi added that the services offered at the facility are similar to those offered at big hospitals.
