One dead, seven injured in two incidents

AMMAN — A 50-year-old man died on Sunday after being hit by a car in the Buwaidah area, according to a Civil Defence Department (CDD) statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Irbid CDD cadres administered first aid to the man and took him to Ramtha Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Also on Sunday, seven people suffered shortness of breath in a fire that erupted in east Amman, Petra reported.
CDD firefighters controlled the blaze and the cadres took the injured to Zarqa Public Hospital where they were listed in fair condition. The fire was caused by an electrical fault.
