One dead, 18 injured in road accidents across Jordan — CDD

AMMAN — One person died and 18 were injured on Sunday in road accidents across the Kingdom, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said on Monday. 

In Karak, one person died and two were injured in an accident caused by an overtaking vehicle on the Desert Road, a CDD source told The Jordan Times.

The injured were taken to Karak Public Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition, the CDD said. 

Also in the southern governorate of Karak, four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Ghor Safi. They were listed in fair condition at Ghor Safi Hospital, according to the CDD. 

Seven people were injured when two vehicles collided at a junction in the northeastern governorate of Mafraq, the CDD said, adding that they were listed in fair condition.

In the capital, CDD personnel administered first aid to five people who were injured in a crash in Wadi Abdoun, and took them to Al Bashir Hospital and Jordan Hospital where they were listed in fair condition. 

 

Also on Sunday, the CDD dealt with 164 fires and rescues, which resulted in 97 injuries, and responded to 503 medical emergencies.
