Officials, press offer condolences after passing of journalist Saleh Arabiyat

AMMAN — Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson Jumana Ghunaimat on Tuesday mourned the passing of journalist Saleh Arabiyat, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ghunaimat expressed her sincere sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire press community, recalling Arabiyat’s contributions as one of Jordan’s pioneers in satirical writing.
Minister of Culture and Minister of Youth Mohammed Abu Rumman also mourned the passing of Arabiyat, who was, in his words, “an example of a cynical writer who was committed to his homeland’s issues”.
General Director of the Jordan Media Commission (JMC) Mohammad Qutaishat and JMC staff expressed their grief and sorrow over the passing of their colleague.
