AMMAN — The establishment of the National Security and Foreign Policy Council (NSFPC) “guarantees and consolidates the Kingdom’s partisan experiment”, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh said on Thursday.
Speaking during a Lower House session over constitutional amendments related to the formation of the NSFPC, Khasawneh highlighted that Article 45 of the Constitution stipulates: “The Council of Ministers shall be entrusted with the responsibility of administering all affairs of the State, internal and external, with the exception of such matters as are or may be entrusted by the present Constitution or by any other legislation to any other person or body”.
He added that “the council shall convene in exigencies, notably when hitting a dead-end related to the formation of a party-based government,” the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
