Norwegian ambassador visits BDC

AMMAN — Norway’s Ambassador to Jordan Espen Lindbæck and a delegation from the Norwegian embassy on Tuesday visited the Business Development Centre (BDC).
The visit provided an overview of the BDC’s inclusive economic development, green entrepreneurship and youth programming, according to a BDC statement.
The ambassador was briefed on the BDC’s efforts in youth employment and supporting entrepreneurship across the Kingdom in addition to the challenges.
Ghaleb Hijazi, BDC General Manager, shed light on the centre’s focus on capacity development of entrepreneurs and small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The BDC also showcased innovative products and solutions to social and economic challenges by young entrepreneurs who graduated from BDC’s entrepreneurship programmes such as SwitchMed Green Entrepreneurship and Inhad Programme.
Additionally, the ambassador went to a training session with Civil Society Organisations who participated in the UNICEF Azem Project, which provides economic support to create jobs and self-employment opportunities.
