No US executive order on visa-free travel for Arab nationals, embassy says

AMMAN — The US embassy on Tuesday refuted “false” reports of “visa-free travel” for certain Arab nationals, while clarifying the current visa situation.
In a statement, the embassy said that “no new executive order on visas or immigration has been issued since January 27”. The announcement comes after a US Federal Court barred the US government from enforcing a decision that bans the entry of nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries, not including Jordan.
Following the federal court ruling against the ban, “the State Department reversed the provisional revocation of visas under Executive Order 13769 to comply with the court order. Individuals with visas that were not physically cancelled may currently travel, if the visa is otherwise valid”, the statement said.
