No new cases of foot-and-mouth in Dhuleil — Agriculture Ministry

AMMAN — No new cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) were reported on Wednesday in farms in Dhuleil and in farms surrounding the affected region, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the daily report on foot-and-mouth disease issued by the ministry, the work of experts from the Animal Health Organisation will be continued across the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry has also decided to continue the precautionary measures around the region of the outbreak. The Agriculture Ministry will also contact the Ministry of Local Administration to instruct that livestock markets in the southern governorates (Karak, Tafileh, Maan and Aqaba) be opened on Friday, February 17, under veterinary monitoring and follow-up by the relevant agriculture directorate.
Permission should be granted only to sheep breeders and traders, and the entry of calves and cattle will be prevented.
