No decisions made on blanket curfew — gov’t

AMMAN — No decisions related to imposing a total lockdown have been made, Minister of State for Media Affairs Ali Al Ayed announced on Saturday, stressing that the current measures, announced earlier, are still valid.
Ayed, who is also the government’s spokesperson, said that the COVID-19 Framework Committee, on Saturday held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh to review developments related to the coronavirus pandemic.
During the meeting, Health Minister Nathir Obeidat acquainted the committee on the hospitals’ current capacity, which was doubled during the past month through adding about 1,200 ward beds and some 200 ICU beds, stressing that the Kingdom’s hospitals are still able to receive the cases that need treatment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
