AMMAN — National Aid Fund (NAF) President Basma Ishaqat said on Monday that there is no change to the Cabinet decision issued late last month under the outgoing government of Hani Mulki to double the number of beneficiaries of NAF programmes by including an additional 85,000 families between 2019 and 2021 at an estimated financial cost of JD100 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ishaqat indicated the decision was neither immediate nor momentary; it is based on a study and review of the NAF’s conditions and the economic and social situation in Jordan, stressing that the fund will move forward with implementation to expand the umbrella of NAF to include 177,000 families by 2021.
She added that the cost allocated to implement the decision will be covered by the general budget.
