AMMAN — Under His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives, Water Minister Raed Abul Saud on Thursday signed an agreement with officials from the water sector to operate the Falha Well in the Theban Municipality of Madaba, according to a ministry statement.

The agreement, signed to boost investments and development in the municipality, was also signed by Theban Mayor Adel Janadbeh at a ceremony attended by several senior officials and representatives in the water sector.

Abul Saud said that the agreement is a response to His Majesty’s directive to the government to develop underserved areas, and part of the ministry’s efforts to provide quality services to citizens.

The ministry’s cadres carried out the installation operations for the Falha Well in Theban, according to the statement.

For his part, Janadbeh commended the ministry’s efforts and swift response to meet the demands and serve the needs of Theban’s citizens, reiterating the municipality’s eagerness to attract investment opportunities in the area.

On Wednesday, Abul Saud also announced a set of sewage projects to serve areas southwest of Amman in Wadi Seer, Marj Al Hamam and Naour, in addition to projects in southeast Amman, at a total value of over 45 million euros.

During an event announcing the projects attended by senior officials in the water sector, Abul Saud said that the projects are part of the ministry's plan to improve water and sewage services around the Kingdom.
