New study plan endorsed for secondary school’s scientific, literary streams

AMMAN — The Education Council on Monday approved the study plan for the scientific and literary stream of secondary education for the academic year 2015-2016.
Under the plan, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology are all to be counted in the scores of General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) scientific stream students, whereas geology and computer science must be passed but are not included in the final score.
Moreover, literary branch students can choose two of the optional subjects of geography, Islamic sciences and French, which will be included in the final score. The council also decided to include the subject of finance for seventh to tenth grades as of the academic year 2015-2016.
