AMMAN — Fadi Balawi on Sunday took the oath of office before Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez as the director general of the Department of Antiquities (DoA).
Fayez highlighted the importance of cooperation between the ministry, DoA, and other relevant institutions to preserve the Kingdom's civil and archaeological heritage, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez also expressed appreciation for former DoA director general Hisham Abbadi's efforts that contributed to the department’s development.
A Royal Decree was issued earlier in the day approving a Cabinet's decision to appoint Balawi after he scored the highest in the competition held under the bylaw to assume leadership posts.
