NCFA reviews previous year’s achievements, plans for 2019

AMMAN — The deputy prime minister and National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) deputy chairperson, Rajai Muasher, on Sunday headed the council’s annual meeting to review last year’s achievements, as well as plans for 2019.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mary Kawar, Awqaf Minister Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal, Public Security Department Director Maj. Gen. Fadel Hmoud and Secretary General of the NCFA Mohammad Miqdadi, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
During the meeting, Miqdadi highlighted cooperation among the council, the Ministry of Labour and the Employment-Technical and Vocational Education and Training (E-TVET) Fund to establish 30 nurseries in the public and private sectors in 2018.
This project was one of the national employment strategy programmes that aimed to motivate woman to join the labour market, and provided 214 job opportunities for Jordanian women, Miqdadi said, adding that 30 more nurseries will be established throughout the Kingdom during the project’s next phase.
He also pointed to the formation of a national early childhood development team and a new booklet for children’s rights in terms of health, education, social and legal needs, which was written in accessible language.
The secretary general noted that the council had also released the second periodic report for “Jordanian Family Conditions” and a report for “Conditions of refugee families”, which was prepared in cooperation with the UNHCR.
