Nationality department processes 217,600 transactions in 2014

AMMAN — The Interior Ministry’s Department of Nationality and Foreigner Affairs handled 217,600 transactions in 2014, ministry spokesperson Ziyad Zu’bi said Monday.
The department processed 18,828 requests to complete marriage procedures and 4,288 for granting citizenship to wives of Jordanian men, Zu’bi said.
He added that the department received 53 applications for retrieving Jordanian nationality, 138 for relinquishing citizenship, 204 for temporary Jordanian passports and 353 for renewing temporary Jordanian passports.
