Mulki urges immediate repair of Desert Highway

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday reviewed the progress of the project to revamp the Desert Highway, which links Amman with the southern governorates, and Prime Minister Hani Mulki issued directives to immediately fix the most damaged areas of the road in four weeks before comprehensive maintenance is conducted.
The Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported that the Council of Ministers earlier agreed to rehabilitate the highway at a total cost of $170 million funded through available grants and that renovating the 220-kilometre- highway will be implemented through cooperation between Jordanian and Saudi companies.
