AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Wednesday extended his condolences to the father and mother of the slain Jordanian pilot Muath Kasasbeh.
In a statement, released by the Royal Court, the Prince said:
“And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: ‘They are dead.’ Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not,” quoting verses of the Holy Koran.
On this difficult day, the Prince condoled all Jordanians on the grave incident and he extended his condolences to the pilot’s parents and wife.
He also extended his condolences to His Majesty King Abdullah and all the Jordanian people, noting that all Jordanians have unified as one in the face of the crisis.
“Today, all Jordanians are unified in confronting terrorism and they will continue to carry out their duties in support of Islam and defend it against those who attempt to defile Islam.”
He said Muath was an example to be followed in his courage, loyalty and strong sense of belonging, saying he was a hero who died with his head up high.
Prince Hussein recalled how, not a long time ago, His Majesty and he received the body of Captain Sharif Ali Bin Zeid Al Oun, who fell martyred while he was defending his religion and nation during his participation in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army’s mission in Afghanistan.
