AMMAN — Jordan Engineers Association President Abdullah Obeidat, who heads the Jordanian popular committee to defend Al Aqsa Mosque and sacred sites, urged the Lower House on Tuesday to follow up on the government’s position rejecting Australia’s decision to stop referring to East Jerusalem as an occupied area.
In a letter to Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh, he stressed that the House should exercise its monitoring role and make sure that the government takes effective steps to assert its rejection of the Australian decision, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times.
