By Petra - Dec 28,2014 - Last updated at Dec 28,2014

AMMAN — Lower House deputies, professional association presidents and civil society  representatives on Sunday called on the government not to go ahead with a proposed agreement to import gas from Israel.

Deputy Jamal Gammoh, who heads the Lower House’s Energy Committee, said “the Zionist entity” does not abide by any international conventions or accords.

Participants urged the government to look for other alternatives, especially oil shale, to resolve the country’s energy problems.
