AMMAN — Jordan is committed to supporting the Palestinian people and their right to live in an independent country of their own with Jerusalem as its capital, Deputy Khamis Atiyeh said Thursday.
At a meeting with Hebron Governor Kamel Hemeid during a visit to the West Bank, Atiyeh, who is heading a Lower House delegation, condemned Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.
Hemeid briefed the MPs on the general condition of Hebron, especially in regard to the continuous Israeli violations.
He also talked about Israeli attempts to Judaise the Ibrahimi Mosque, and its arrests that impede the work of Palestinian security agencies, especially in occupied areas.
