AMMAN — The Lower House’s Palestine Committee on Wednesday praised the Malaysian stances on the Palestinian cause, mainly the banning of Israeli athletes from participating in the 2019 international Paralympics for swimming, in a gesture of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
During a meeting with Malaysian Ambassador Datuk Kuminding, MP Yahya Saud, the head of the panel, underlined the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem and its role in enhancing the Jerusalemites’ resilience, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For his part, the diplomat said that his country’s stances towards the Palestinian cause are clear, referring to Malaysia’s commitment to supporting Al Aqsa Mosque and reaching a fair and comprehensive solution to the conflict within the pre-1967 borders.
Saud presented the ambassador with a plaque in appreciation for his country’s stances on Palestinian cause.
