AMMAN – The Kingdom will remain under the impact of unstable weather conditions on Wednesday, with lower temperatures and rainfall expected in the morning, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said Tuesday.
On Tuesday, unstable weather conditions brought rainfall to several regions in the country, said JMD Director General Mohammad Samawi.
Temperatures in Amman on Wednesday will range between a high of 16°C and a low of 7°C, according to the JMD.
Samawi said more unstable weather is expected over the weekend, bringing rainfall to several regions of the Kingdom.
The meteorologist said the recent depressions that affected the Kingdom have brought a good amount of rainfall.
“We are still in autumn and winter has not started yet. We hope that more depressions will affect the country during winter,” he told The Jordan Times over the phone.
Ten million cubic metres (mcm) of water entered the country’s 10 major dams in the last week of November, raising storage levels to 39.8 per cent, according to official figures.
The Water Ministry said in late November that the dams were holding around 129.5mcm of their total capacity of 325mcm at the time.
Rain came early this year, representing 27.7 per cent of the country’s long-term annual average of 8.5 billion cubic metres, the ministry said.
