AMMAN — More than 2,000 trucks were loaded with various commodities on Sunday to head to their final destinations across the Kingdom, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) President Nayef Bakhit said.
Customs personnel handled more than 4,500 containers during the strike, Bakhit added. Jordanian ports are operating at a quick pace to handle various types of goods, he said, stressing that the Kingdom's ports continue to receive and process vessels without delay or traffic inside the yards.
Aqaba ports have received all ships that were scheduled to arrive at the port according to regular timetables, he said, noting that handling operations continued in accordance with contingency procedures.
Three vessels carrying livestock arrived at the Aqaba port, and were transferred to farms, he said, adding that another livestock ship that is scheduled to dock at Aqaba port on the 22nd of this month will be handled in the same way.
