AMMAN — Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth Hussein Jbour on Sunday opened the "Hemam" Forum for voluntary and humanitarian initiatives, titled "Volunteering in Crises".
According to a statement issued by the ministry on Monday, the five-day virtual forum, considered the first of its kind at the regional level, is being supervised by the Hemam Bank of Volunteering Work in partnership with the Arab Voluntary Union, and will see the participation of 150 young men and women from 18 Arab countries.
The Hemam Bank of Volunteering Work is a Jordanian application that qualifies young people for social service and trains them in volunteer work, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
At the opening ceremony, Jbour praised the efforts of the Hemam team in promoting the culture of volunteerism and its organisation of volunteer programmes during the coronavirus crisis.
