Ministry teams detain 114 for begging

AMMAN — A total of 114 people, including both adults and minors, have been detained for begging by the Social Development Ministry’s Anti-Vagrancy Department since the beginning of August as part of 36 campaigns that took place in Amman.
Among the adults were 40 men and 32 women, while the minors include 32 boys and 10 girls, Director of the Anti-Vagrancy Department Maher Kloub said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Kloub also noted that the department’s personnel have detained 45 panhandlers during Eid Al Adha, possessing a total sum of JD1,446.
