Ministry, German agency sign agreement to support enterprises

AMMAN — The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) on Tuesday signed an agreement to implement a programme to support micro, small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and boost employment.
Ministry Secretary General Yousef Shamali and GIZ Country Director Michaela Baur, signed the 7 million euro worth agreement, planned for 2018-2022, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Minister of Industry Tareq Hammouri stressed the importance of SMEs which constitute more than 90 per cent of the national industry. The programme aims at improving the capabilities of SMEs and helping them create more jobs.
