AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Interior Minister Ghaleb Zu'bi on Wednesday attended the ceremony held at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem for the restoration of the tomb of Jesus, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

His Majesty King Abdullah was one of the first to take the initiative and donate for the restoration works, Petra reported, quoting Orthodox Church Patriarch Theophilos III as commending in his remarks the King's continuous support for the holy sites.

The ceremony was organised by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate and the Franciscan and Armenian churches, Petra reported, noting that speeches delivered highlighted the Hashemite support of sanctuaries, both Islamic and Christian.

Attendees, comprising clergymen and diplomats, represented Arab and foreign countries.
