AMMAN — Minister of Education and Higher Education Walid Maani on Saturday discussed with Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan Csaba Czibere ways of enhancing bilateral relations in the field of scientific research, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Maani called for holding a joint Jordanian-Hungarian conference to bolster scientific and cultural exchange between the two countries, voicing his appreciation of the Hungarian government for offering scholarships to Jordanian students.
He also said that Jordanian universities are open for Hungarian students to join, underlining the “distinctive” level of Jordanian academic institutes and the safe environment in the Kingdom.
Czibere said that the estimated number of Jordanian students who applied for Hungarian scholarships in 2019 amounted to 2,700. The Hungarian government provides 400 scholarships to Jordan per year and there are 713 Jordanian students who currently study in Hungary.
