Middle East Council of Churches offers support to Syrian refugees

AMMAN – The Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) for the Orthodox Family on Sunday said Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, who is also president of the MECC, gave his blessings to the council in Jordan for its humanitarian work in the Northern Badia region.
The council has been providing assistance to some Syrian refugee families who live in informal tented settlements in Sabha and Subhiya, according to an MECC statement. The assistance consisted of food parcels, hygiene kits, electric fans and vouchers for children’s clothes, the statement said.
