AMMAN — Investigators have uncovered the circumstances of the death of a man who was believed to have committed suicide in 2013 in Zarqa, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The PSD said a taskforce looking into cold and key cases reopened investigations into the case, collected new evidence and concluded that foul play was highly likely, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported, quoting a PSD statement.
The PSD summoned two brothers of the deceased and confronted them with the new data, and they confessed to involuntary manslaughter, the statement said. They said that their sibling was accidentally shot with a firearm, which one of them had in his hand at the time of the incident.
The PSD said the case had been referred to the prosecutor of the Criminal Court, where the two brothers are expected to stand trial.
