Major dams hold 44.46% of total capacity — ministry

AMMAN — The Kingdom’s 10 major dams currently hold round 144.69 million cubic metres (mcm) of water, constituting 44.46 per cent of their total capacity of 325.44mcm, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted the Water Ministry as saying on Thursday.
The ministry said 1,536.6mcm of rainfall has been registered since the beginning of winter, which constitutes 18.7 per cent of the long-term annual average of 8,196.6mcm.
