Mafraq ‘City of Culture 2017’ inaugurated

AMMAN — Deputising for Prime Minister Hani Mulki, Culture Minister Nabih Shuqum attended the inauguration of Mafraq as the 2017 City of Culture, at Al al-Bayt University, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Shuqum announced a series of activities to advance art and culture in the governorate.
Mafraq Governor Ahmad Zu’bi highlighted the numerous cultural events that will take place in the governorate, calling for the building of a specialised cultural centre in Mafraq, 80km northeast of Amman.
