Lower House Speaker, Qatari Shura Council Speaker discuss boosting parliamentary cooperation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Tuesday met the Qatari Shura Council Speaker Hassan Bin Abdulla Al Ghanim in the council headquarters in Doha, to discuss the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. During the meeting, they stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in the Arab and international parliamentary arenas over issues of common interest, especially the Palestinian cause and joint Arab action. Both sides also emphasised the crucial role of joint coordination in urging international parliaments to intervene and stop the war against Gaza. Safadi highlighted the importance of implementing the work of the Parliamentary Friendship Committees, and building upon strategic relationships as grounds to serving the two nations. Safadi expressed his appreciation for Qatar’s support in various fields and extended an invitation to Al Ghanim to visit the Lower House of Representatives, which was accepted and scheduled for early next year, according to Petra.
