Lower House, DoS ink memo to enhance legislative transparency

AMMAN — The Lower House on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Statistics (DoS) to enhance transparency in legislative and regulatory processes.
The MoU, signed by Secretary General of the Lower House Firas Adwan and DoS Director General Qasim Zu’bi, aims at providing all data required by the House, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Adwan highlighted the importance of the memo, noting that the MoU will help Parliament in drawing up its policies in decision making on the basis of accurate information.
The MoU will also enable the Lower House secretariat's officials to come up with a comprehensive view on the indicators, mainly the economic ones. He added that this agreement ensures speedy access to information, as well.
