Local revenues reached JD3.79 billion in first five months of 2023

AMMAN — Local revenues witnessed a significant JD415.9 million increase during the first five months of 2023, reaching a total of JD3.792 billion. According to the monthly financial bulletin released on Thursday, the increase is partially attributed to a rise in tax revenues of approximately JD250.7 million, as well as a surge in non-tax revenues of around JD165.3 million.

Turning to public expenditure, government spending during the January-May period amounted to approximately JD4.298 billion, showing an increase of JD318.9 million compared with the same period of 2022. The rise was primarily driven by a JD291.1 million increase in current expenditures and an approximately JD27.8 million rise in capital expenditures, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
