AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday discussed bilateral relations and the latest regional developments with Kuwait National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al Ghanim.

During the meeting, Fayez voiced Jordan’s keenness on further enhancing its relations with Kuwait in all fields, especially parliamentary cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said.

The two sides stressed the need for more joint Arab coordination and cooperation to address regional crises, especially in Syria.

Fayez also voiced Jordan’s rejection of interference in the internal affairs of Arab Gulf states, according to Petra.

Al Ghanim commenced the advanced Kuwaiti-Jordanian relations, saying that “Jordan has a special status in Kuwait.”

Acknowledging the challenges facing Jordan, Al Ghanim said, “Supporting Jordan is a duty, not a favour.”

Fayez on Tuesday delivered a written letter from His Majesty King Abdullah to Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah on bilateral relations.

In the written letter, King Abdullah expressed his appreciation for Kuwait’s support to Jordan, stressing the importance of maintaining coordination on various Arab and regional issues to face the challenges that Arab nations are experiencing, according to a Royal Court statement.

During his official visit to Kuwait, Fayez also met with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah.

The Kuwaiti prime minister said that he, accompanied by a number of Kuwaiti businessmen, will pay a visit to the Kingdom next month during which a number of agreements will be signed.
