AMMAN — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), has completed the "Dates Distribution Project in Jordan", benefiting 60,480 targeted families in various governorates of the Kingdom.

In a statement issued on Monday, JHCO said that the distribution was facilitated in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, the National Aid Fund and the Palestinian Affairs Department.

Each package is designed to feed a family for an entire month, taking into account the size of the family, the statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, read.

JHCO Secretary General Hussein Shibli emphasised the joint efforts, saying, "Several relief projects were implemented with the support of the KSrelief", and expressed commitment to partnering with the centre for future humanitarian efforts.

The shipments came directly from Saudi Arabia to the organisation's warehouses and were distributed in coordination with charities and social development departments, he added.

KSrelief Branch Director in Jordan Nayef Shammari affirmed the importance of the dates distribution project as part of a comprehensive relief initiative in Jordan that covers all governorates and is based on careful planning and field assessments to determine the real needs of families.

The distribution encompassed 2,000 tonnes of dates, with a total value of $3,234,000.
