KOICA holds WFK Volunteer Programme workshop

AMMAN — The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on Thursday held the “2022 World Friends Korea Volunteer Programme Partners Workshop” to celebrate the resumption of the World Friends Korea (WFK) programme with the dispatch of the first volunteers after the COVID-19 outbreak. 

The workshop introduced the programme’s partners to the new procedures and mechanisms of receiving volunteers and gave them an opportunity to voice any opinions and suggestions for the future development of the programme.

Country Director of KOICA Jordan Office Seo Dongsung expressed his gratitude to KOICA’s partners for their cooperation and contributions to the programme’s success over the past 16 years, and to the new volunteers who came to Jordan to share their knowledge despite the prevailing circumstances, according to a statement from KOICA.  

KOICA sought this workshop as an opportunity to meet with the directors of host organisations and relevant ministry representatives as the WFK programme finally resumed operations after the COVID-19 outbreak and the evacuation of volunteers on April 1, 2020.

Three main topics were introduced during the workshop, starting with introducing the new volunteer request process, and the introduction of new professional focuses in alignment with the Jordanian government’s priorities. 

The topics also included an explanation of KOICA’s customer satisfaction policy and the Public-service Customer Satisfaction Index survey, which aims at measuring and improving the level of KOICA partners’ satisfaction. 

The workshop introduced KOICA’s anti-corruption compliances and its efforts to combat corruption internally and globally. 

The workshop concluded with a feedback session for KOICA’s partners, who voiced their questions, concerns and opinions regarding KOICA and the WFK Volunteer Programme. 

KOICA also renewed its commitment to assisting Jordan and increasing its partners’ positive experience with the agency.

Notably, three new volunteers were dispatched to Jordan on July 21, 2022, to work in the fields of youth development and music education in collaboration with the ministries of education, social development and culture.
