AMMAN — The Kingdom on Sunday will witness an astronomical phenomenon that includes the appearance of Jupiter next to the moon, where it will be visible to the naked eye at 6pm, the Chief Islamic Justice Department’s astronomer, Imad Mujahed, said on Saturday.
Mujahed said that seeing the event with the naked eye is “more beautiful” than with a telescope, adding that a telescope can be used for seeing Jupiter passing by the moon, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He said that the pairing of Jupiter and the moon “has no relation to what happens on earth as alleged by some astronomers who do not rely on scientific facts”. The astronomer said that the event can be observed all night long nationwide.
