King visits Gendarmerie Training Centre, attends military drill

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday paid a visit to the Jordan Gendarmerie Training Centre, where he was received by Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh.
His Majesty was briefed about the expansion and development of the centre, in terms of buildings and teaching methods followed in order to achieve the highest international standards as one of the best security training centres in the region and the world.
The King also attended a military drill titled, “The Safe Shield” implemented by a gendarmerie unit, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The drill included live ammunition exercises, drones, storming buildings and medical evacuation, as well as dealing with and arresting dangerous criminals.
The King commended the advanced level of the Gendarmerie Department, especially in the arming and training areas, and voiced his confidence and pride in the skills and high morale that its personnel enjoy.
