King in UAE on private visit, due in Paris Wednesday

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday left for the United Arab Emirates on a private visit, the Royal Court announced.
It was also announced that His Majesty will start a two-day working visit to France on September 17, during which the King will meet with French President Francois Hollande and discuss ways to promote Jordanian-French relations, besides the latest developments concerning regional and international issues.
During the visit, King Abdullah is scheduled to meet with several senior officials and leading economic, religious and intellectual figures in Paris.
From Paris, the Monarch will head to New York where he will participate in the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly, along with world leaders.
King Abdullah will chair the Jordanian delegation that will participate in the General Assembly meeting. He will also deliver a keynote address on the developments witnessed in the Middle East region and on regional challenges.
On the sidelines of the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly, King Abdullah will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, several heads of state, senior political figures and global leaders taking part in the UN meetings, according to the Royal Court.
